Just 40 minutes drive from the airport at Faro, Santa Ana is situated in pretty countryside a few kilometers from the traditional coastal town of Armação de Pêra which boasts one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in the Algarve. The little towns of Alcantarilha and Algoz are 5 minutes drive away and provide small shops, markets and some good reasonably priced restaurants. The larger castle town of Silves, which sits beside the River Arade, is about 10 minutes away. In addition to the many shops and cafes, Silves hosts a variety of events, festivals and fairs throughout the year.
