Semi-Detached Cottage
A short distance north of São Bartolomeu de Messines just off the old Lisbon road, amongst a small Portuguese community is this semi-detached that the present owners have partly refurbished. All the walls are mortar rendered, both inside and out, the floors concreted with bitumen DPC, topped with a mortar screed and finished in local ladrilho tiles. The roof was relaid about 14 years ago with traditional eucalyptus poles, cane and pantiles and the existing owner has himself re-plumbed and wired the property. Whilst the basics have been attended to, work now needs to be done with regard to making the property into a home with kitchen units, tiling and other improvements to the purchasers requirements. Most of the heavy work associated with a project of this nature has already been undertaken but there remain an opportunity for an interested purchaser to develop the cottage into a small home or a country letting opportunity.
