A delightful little town in the countryside between Albufeira and Quateira set on a hillside with wonderful sea views to the east and west. A short walk up the cobbled streets of traditional houses, past old farm buildings and gardens takes you up to the top of the town with its splendid vistas. The town itself is quiet and peaceful although only a few kilometres from busy shopping areas and beaches. There is 
a magnificent church which borders a wide street lined with Jacaranda
trees, a good place to sit and watch the world go by. There are the usual variety of small cafes, pastelarias and restaurants, also a well-stocked mini-market and many other interesting little shops to browse. The surrounding area of Boliqueime has many individual villas set in spacious grounds giving privacy but with the luxury of being close to all amenities.
